Conner and Pam Buckner are a happily married couple; newlyweds of five months. Three years ago Conner became the assistant pastor of the New Hope Non-Denominational church, co-shepherding the flock with Pastor Brooks, the senior pastor. Conner also worked a secular job for nearly fifteen years as a bus operator for the city. Pam had a master’s in counseling for a shelter, and she was currently working in that position, though she had rather continue working in sales (she had been laid off from her sales position).

The residence of this happily married couple is in The Windy City, Chicago. Life is good and the newlyweds are contented to be in their marital union, though both had been married prior. Conner had been married for ten years, and had fathered twin daughters (age 10) with a woman name Renita. And Pam had been married to Jeff, two years, and they had no children together.

Ah, there was nothing like solid family bonds and close friends to share food, gatherings and good times. Pam and her married friends couldn’t be any closer than siblings: Jackie, Tricee, and Val. Each of her friends were gainfully employed in their chosen professions.

A little about the couples: Hunter and Tricee were married a little over a year (a year and a half). Jackie and Lem were almost two years married. And Val and Cory had nearly two years of marriage under their belt. But like many couples, there are ex-spouses and children from previous marriages and/or relationships that will come into play in each couple’s lives. And when exes refuse to remain in the past, problems can arise to test faithfulness and fidelity. To be more specific, the foundation of Conner and Pam’s union will be shaken.

The test for Pam is Jeff, her ex-husband. And Conner’s past relationship cannot be excluded. After all, matters concerning Conner’s children and his ex, Renita, doesn’t make for smooth sailing. Not to mention other problems, such as single women calling on Connor for “prayer” under the guise of needing spiritual guidance.

Really, what is a harmless lunch between old exes? After all, Pam knew Jeff well enough to handle any passes and crafty plans he had up his sleeve to dismantle her marriage to Conner. A solid, loving, prayer-covered marriage can withstand any storm. Right?

Maybe.

Well, that’s for the reader to find out. Buy and read this romantic, inspirational, entertaining, encouraging novel: Matrimony Redeemed, A Humorous, Inspirational Novel by Kathleen Cormack.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Tricee, Pam, Jackie and Val. I felt like the women were friends of mine. They had real life issues and dealt with them just like real women. Just because they were women of faith didn't mean they didn't have to deal with worldly disappointments and temptations, and it didn't mean they were invulnerable. Their stories are our stories and it felt good to see that we're not alone in our everyday struggles.
The ladies are back! And with more humor and drama than before. Between ex-boyfriends, husbands, untimely death, babies and the Holy Ghost, this book doesn't miss a beat. Matrimony Redeemed is a story of triumphant womanhood, friendship and faith. It chronicles the next chapter in the lives of Tricee, Pam, Jackie and Val after Prayer for All Seasons, and presents them with new challenges and lessons to learn. But through it all, the friends never forget to laugh and stay prayerful.
A great read! This book takes friendship to a new level. The Windy City ladies are in new stages of life. Marriage, children, and careers are in full swing. With every opportunity, the ladies learn more about themselves and each other as they face life changing decisions. The book will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end. You will not be disappointed!
